ugh, i'm a bad updater. in my defense, i'm in hawaii right now. i flew in saturday morning and it's been an awesome trip so far. my coworker and i went to the dole planation and north shore the day before yesterday, and then hiked diamond head, sat on the beach, hit up waiola shave ice and ate at nobu last night. after my client meetings today i ran along the beach and dude, this is the one place in the world that could turn me into a runner. you keep going and going because the gorgeous view keeps going and going. but i'd never get skinny because the food here is just freaking amazing.

at the beginning of the hike

view from the top of diamond head.

a small river that fed straight into the beach. i was standing knee deep in water when i took this picture and it was both warm and cold from the beach water mixing with the river water. well, either that or some kid had just peed upstream from me.

sunset at north shore.

i'm back in client meetings today but hopefully i'll get out early enough to screw around some more. hawaii does seriously bad things to your productivity. i'm never coming back. it was nice knowing you all. aloha, kids.

another weekend over. the weather was absolutely gorgeous these past couple of days and made it damn near impossible to get any real work done. this will be a problem when i show up at the office tomorrow and get bulldozed over by the monday morning from hell. yes, BULLDOZED. but never mind that, i'll deal with it in another 12 hours. i saw the losers on friday night and i must say it was a complete waste of zoe saldana and chris evans' hotness. went to katsuya @ LA live to eat dinner afterwards and it was a bit overrated. or maybe i've just eating at way too many good places lately so now my standards are all out of whack. saturday morning i drove up to beverly hills to try on bridesmaid dresses for rosa's wedding (thanksgiving 2010!). there were a couple of cute choices so it was a relatively painless experience. thus far, all of my girlfriends have had nice taste in bridemaid dresses. i know that makes me exceptionally lucky, considering some of the monstrosities i've seen other people wearing (seriously, wtf is wrong with some brides out there?) so thanks, ladies. i'll remember that one day if i ever get married.

it was also my mom's bday yesterday, so we went up to terranea resort and had dinner overlooking the ocean @ mar'sel. it was good. see, this is why i can never be a food critic. the best adjectives i can come up with are words like "good" or "overrated" or "decent." sigh. my dad's wagyu steak was absolute perfection though, worth every single penny and every single calorie. i'd go back for a bite of that steak alone.

walking around the grounds of the resort.

i'm dressed like i'm going to a funeral. depressing.

let's see, what else... this morning i saw my trainer (ouch) and then drove up to weho for a facial at kinara spa. it cost me an arm and a leg (literally. i am selling my right arm on the black market tomorrow so i can pay off this month's amex bill) but now i don't look so much like a grumpy blobfish anymore (see below) so i'm happy about that.

what i saw in the mirror when i woke up this morning.

jack is totally disgusted by the blobfish but i think it's kinda cute. it's just so...blobby. all right i'm rambling now so i'm gonna sign off and see if i can get an hour or two of work squeezed in before my weekend is officially over. later, kids.
