APRIL 2004
happy post april 15th! somehow i managed to file my own, lynn's, donny's AND a hundred of my client's tax returns on time. i almost didn't make it though - tom and i had to sprint to the post office at 5:20 pm on thursday holding all one hundred of cb richard ellis investors' returns. luckily we still made it, though for a while i thought i would have to drive to LAX and stand in the freaking three hour line with five billion procrastinators. and i also managed to find time to drop by the century city mall and spend a third of my cpa exam bonus on a new cole haan bag - SO CUTE. anyways...i was sleeping like two to three hours every day this week, so i was dead tired by thursday night. by the time we got back from the post office, half of our group had already left for the standard bar (where is the f*ckin' love?) so me and three of my coworkers plus my manager just went to old town pasadena to eat at mi piace, which was decent italian food in a typical trendy LA setting. i slept for a full eight hours that night, and then i cruised into work at 10am on friday morning and took a two hour lunch, and then left at three to get a facial with jenny at le petite retreat day spa in larchmont village. and after all the built up stress, tension and exhaustion, it was pure bliss just to sit around and do absolutely NOTHING. i must say that the past three months have been a series of tremendous learning experiences, which has in turn made me much stronger. and bitter. but i will deal with that when i come back from europe.
so my plane leaves in a little over three hours... i packed this morning and did a real half-assed job too, so i know i'm probably gonna get into prague and realize that i forgot all my underwear at home. i'm finally super excited to be taking my vacation at last - it's long overdue so hopefully i will come back refreshed and ready to tackle the practical stuff that i've been putting off for the past four months. i'll be checking my email periodically so if you need to reach me, write to connie@the-west-side.com. oookay i'm out. later.
