LYNN'S 26th BIRTHDAY!

our inspiration, on display in lynn's kitchen for the past 19 years.

my first sketch to determine the most approrpriate size/number of boards to use. check out the fancy algebraic equations (aka ratios) at the bottom - i think i scribbled down pi r squared on another sketch. there's a reason i'm a CPA and not an architect, okay?

three sketches later. see the EY logo on the side? quality in everything I do, baby.

spray painting in the dark on a windy night - not the brightest of ideas. sadly, we weren't able to get a better picture of the process because keri was tied up and i was high from the fumes. i think i'm starting to see a trend....

putting together the pieces at keri's church. sorry about the lousy quality of picture, i was using my camera phone.

gluing everything together.

keri, trying to get the paint to dry faster at two-something in the morning.

five hours later...

look, i'm changing a tire without triple A's help!

so we forgot to account for the stupid side mirror, which is why we had to shift the entire bus down and to the right. yeah, we're idiots.

and there you have it: four hours of sleep, a spare set of lynn's house keys, six cans of spraypaint, nine 32" by 40" foam boards, one measuring tape, two 20" by 30" foam boards, one x-acto knife, one man-stabbing knife, 35 sheets of 11" x 17" laser paper, one blowdryer, countless canon printer ink cartrdiges, two glue sticks, green and black paint, two rolls of packaging tape, one large room at keri's church, one old astro van, two very tired girls, and lastly, one very surprised (and embarrassed) birthday girl.

p.s. you would not believe how incredibly tedious it is to spray paint nine 32" x 40" foam boards bright yellow. taggers, you have this girl's newfound respect.
