MARCH '10 ARcHIVES

back from hawaii - what a trip! flew in tuesday with two of my coworkers, and as we were getting ready to land, i saw a giant rainbow right next to the plane. now that's an auspicious omen if i've ever seen one. went straight to client meetings, got out at a decent hour and had dinner at michel's, which was really, really good. the view was unbeatable. wednesday was more of the same - randomly ran into stason in the hallways of the gas company (small world!) and then had dinner at sushi sasabune. everything tasted like heaven except for the raw blue shrimp - the texture kind of grossed me out. it was firm, clammy and cold, kind of like eating a refrigerated cow eyeball. umm, not that i would know or anything. we wrapped up our remaining calls on thursday morning and had a few hours to kill before our flight back to LA, so i decided to cab it to the utopia of all malls for some last minute window shopping. it started raining lightly so i ducked into the prada store and ended up buying a bag. no sales tax, and the price was a couple hundred cheaper than LA's. man, I LOVE HAWAII. haha. we had lunch on the beach before heading to the airport and i ordered the best tasting pina colada i've ever had in my life.

the ocean view from my balcony at hilton hawaiian village. not a bad sight to wake up to, huh?

also, i flew first class to and from hawaii because i couldn't bear the thought of being crammed in coach for 5+ hours while trying to work on my laptop. now i am convinced that i can never go back again. i had fresh baked cookies and a strawberry sundae and macadamia nut french toast and salmon and champagne. normally i never eat on an airplane because the smell makes me sick to my stomach - it's the combination of stale air, bad food and cheap cologne that usually does me in. but there was none of that in first class, so this time around i was eating everything in sight. i totally got my money's worth. and seeing as how i am probably going back to hawaii next month, i'm going to need to win the lottery ASAP because i really cannot sustain this lifestyle for much longer. not that i'm complaining though, because there are definitely worse ways to go broke.

this weekend was filled with more goofing off (i am so screwed tomorrow). erin and brandon drove up from SD so we had brunch at OHOP. tom came down and dropped G off at keri's for dinner and we went to island's to eat. it was good but gross. worked afterwards at peet's coffee for a few hours and now it's sunday. crap. where does the weekend go!? now i gotta run and attempt to cram in two days worth of work into the next few hours or so. aloha, kids.

happy fourth day of spring! i celebrated the new season by going to 24 hour fitness' bootcamp workout saturday morning. good lord, it kicked my ass. lots of push-ups, squats, lunges, burpies, bear crawls, mountain climbers and ridiculously fast jumping jacks. half the class dropped out after 25 minutes. for the record, i never want to do a stationary lunge ever again in my life. my poor quads are about two seconds away from cramping up from every step i take.

after the workout from hell, i hobbled down to OC to meet up with melissa and euni for brunch at old vine cafe. it was so nice to see my ex-roomies. sometimes it's hard to believe that it's been almost 7 years since we graduated from ucla. i keep thinking that we're supposed to feel somewhat grown up by now, but everytime we get together we end up reverting back to our 19 year old selves. you would not believe the amount of sh*t talking and gossiping that goes on - i swear, eunice is always the instigator. it's petty and immature and SO MUCH FUN. also, since i am a superficial bastard, i always look forward to seeing what the girls are going to wear. the one thing about korean chicks is that they always bring their A-game when it comes to clothes. that's probably why i spent nearly as much on clothes during college as i did on tuition.

speaking of fun, me, lynn and keri totally ditched work yesterday to go to CA adventure. erin, we missed you! it was hell trying to make up the work today (seriously, what decent CPA takes a day off from work less than a month before 4/15?) but since i'm always behind anyways, what's another day really? aside from 9 billable hours at $726 an hour, that is. haha. sorry EY; some random partner will now have to wait an extra month to add a new porsche to his collection.

this was taken after we got soaked on that stupid rapids ride. i got the worst of it - i was pretty much drenched from head to toe. whose idiotic idea was it to go on this again? oh right, mine. ugh.

i wanted to flash "LA" in the picture but was scared the disney people would think it was a gang sign and delete the entire thing. so then i did the above, which is just as cool. right? good thing there were two bigger dorks sitting to the left of me.

i took lynn and keri down in this game. and that little three year old kid too. HA.

i'm a beautiful butterfly!

all right, seeing as how i am RIDICULOUSLY behind in work, now would probably be a good time for me to sign off. update more next weekend. be good kids, and have a fabulous week. xoxo.
